As we prepare for the new school year, we're excited to introduce MySchoolQuest—an online hub that gives families one convenient place to access important dining program information.

Lake Forest, IL— Lake Forest Community High School (LFHS) is proud to announce that sophomores Bridget Dacy and Sarah Griffin have been named 2026 USA Lacrosse All-Americans, one of the highest honors awarded to high school lacrosse players in the United States.

After reviewing community applications and conducting interviews, the Board has selected Mark Pickett to serve as an interim Board member through the next regularly scheduled Board election in April 2027.

Local favorite Left Bank brought its flavors to campus with a special pop-up lunch in the cafeteria on May 26, serving Chicago-style dogs and chili cheese dogs to students during the lunch periods.

Lake Forest, IL – Earlier this month, Lake Forest Community High School celebrated five student-athletes during the school’s Spring Athletics College Signing Day held in the LFHS cafeteria.

Lake Forest was recently ranked No. 6 on Chicago Magazine’s list of the Best Suburbs to Live In. Using 2024 and 2025 school rankings as part of its evaluation, the magazine highlighted Lake Forest High School’s No. 1 ranking among Lake County public high schools in 2024, along with a 98% graduation rate and strong college-going outcomes. The piece also mentioned that in 2025, Sheridan and Everett Elementary Schools were also recognized among the top in the county.

Lake Forest High School is seeking an Alumni Coordinator to help strengthen and grow connections within our Scout alumni community.

Lake Forest, IL – Lake Forest School Districts 67 and 115 will recommend Mr. Joseph Blanchette for approval as the next Director of Safety and Security at the District 115 Board of Education meeting on May 12 and the District 67 Board of Education meeting on May 19. Pending approval by both Boards, Mr. Blanchette would begin his role on July 1, 2026, reporting to Chief Operating Officer Dr. Jennifer Hermes.

Mr. Ronnie Wilcox has been selected as the next Co-Athletic Director at LFHS. Pending approval by the District 115 Board of Education at its May 12 meeting, his appointment will take effect on July 1, 2026.

The College Board has named Lake Forest Community High School to the 2025 Advanced Placement® (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning Gold distinction for the fourth year in a row.

Beginning the fall semester of 2026, Lake Forest Community High School will receive its newest School Resource Officer from the Lake Forest Police Department. Officer Matthew Allen will begin shadowing the current SRO, Officer Long, and transition to the school’s main SRO shortly after. 

Deer Path Middle School and Lake Forest Community High School orchestra students will take the stage together for a one-of-a-kind musical experience during Rhythm Rising, a high-energy performance featuring internationally known electric violinist Mark Wood, the original string master of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

After a competitive selection process, the Lake Forest Police Department is pleased to announce the appointment of a new School Resource Officer (SRO) for Lake Forest Community High School. LAKE FOREST, IL —Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 set a new record this fall, collecting 12,600 pounds of donated food during its annual HUGS (Help Us Give Suppers) Food Drive, marking one of the most impactful efforts in the program’s history.

The 2025 report card, recently released by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), shows all Lake Forest schools earned an “exemplary” rating — awarded to schools that rank in the top 10% statewide with no underperforming student groups.

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Burke as the new Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach at Lake Forest High School.

An incomprehensible event: every person in the audience of a high school play falls unconscious—every person but one. Using interviews with witnesses, loved ones, first responders, and the investigators pursuing the case, a theatre ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style.

On Friday, September 26, Lake Forest High School and Dr. John Trowbridge, hosted the formal Induction Ceremony for the National Chinese Honors Society in the Library Classroom.

The College Board AP Exams will be administered during the weeks of May 4-8 and May 11-15, 2026, at Lake Forest High School.

Lake Forest, IL – Lake Forest Community High School is proud to carry forward its tradition of unveiling the Wall of Excellence at the first Varsity Football game of the season. 

As part of its ongoing commitment to student safety and school security, Lake Forest High School will implement a new policy this fall requiring all students and staff to wear a visible, school-issued student ID and lanyard during the school day and on school-provided transportation.

Lake Forest Community High School is pleased to announce new leadership for its Pom/Dance program. Meghan Winebrenner will step into the role of Varsity Head Coach, while Ellie Saliba will serve as the Junior Varsity Head Coach for the LFHS 2025–2026 fall and winter seasons.

Following LFHS graduation on June 7, work will begin on the external entryway to the high school.

Lake Forest Open Lands (LFOLA) is proud to offer the Susie Hoffmann Award for Nature and Conservation to a 2025 Lake Forest High School (LFHS) graduating senior passionate about the natural world. Through this award, we celebrate Susie's years of dedication to empowering young people throughout Lake County.  

We’re proud to announce that our Scouts have won this year’s film festival with a compelling silent film inspired by the real-life journey of Tony Daniel, one of the world’s top professional comic book artists. This year’s festival prompt, Creativity Unleashed, challenged students to explore unique and imaginative ideas.

Lake Forest High School’s Isaac Arciniega delivered an impressive performance at the IHSA State Regional Boys Bowling Tournament on January 17, 2025, at Bertrand’s Lanes in Waukegan.

We are notifying our District 67 and District 115 communities of a data security incident involving PowerSchool, our student information system provider. On December 22, 2024, an unauthorized third party accessed PowerSchool servers via their PowerSource support portal, compromising certain data from student and teacher databases globally.

In mid-January, the City of Lake Forest will begin the Deerpath Streetscape Project to enhance the downtown area along Deerpath Road from Green Bay Road to Western Avenue. This transformative project will improve pedestrian safety, enhance infrastructure, and beautify this gateway to Lake Forest.

On Friday, September 29, Standard & Poor's (S&P) Global Ratings assigned its Triple A (AAA) long-term rating to Lake Forest Community High School District 115. The AAA rating is the highest possible rating awarded by bond agencies to entities considered the most creditworthy. This is the 22nd consecutive year that District 115 has received this prestigious recognition.
