A Fox Lake native, Cahill has been immersed in competitive volleyball since she began playing in sixth grade, inspired by watching her father compete in a beach volleyball league. Her passion for the sport quickly grew, leading to a standout career as a three-year varsity starter at Grant High School and club player for Wisconsin Juniors.
Though she spent much of her early career as a hitter, Cahill transitioned to the setter position after a teammate’s father recognized her potential, leading her to start for two years at the College of Lake County. She later transferred to Illinois State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in special education while continuing her volleyball journey through competitive intramurals and coaching for Illini Elite Volleyball Club.
Cahill has since built a diverse coaching and teaching career, with roles in the Grayslake, Lake Zurich, and Lake Forest school districts. During her tenure in Lake Zurich, she coached JV boys and girls volleyball for four years. At LFHS, she has served as the Sophomore Coach for girls volleyball for the past two seasons and the Frosh/Soph Coach for boys volleyball.
Congratulations to Coach Cahill on this exciting new chapter. Welcome to the team!
