Welcome to the Sports Medicine website, which contains important information for parents, athletes, and coaches of LFHS athletes. This calendar shows the times when athletic trainers are available at East and West campuses.
JENNIFER C. REGAN, MS, ATC, LAT has been with LFHS since 2002. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and a Master's degree in biomechanics from Eastern Michigan University. She has been practicing since 1996. Previous positions include working with soccer and softball at Eastern Michigan University; gymnastics, hockey, softball, and fencing for the Sports Medicine Institute in South Bend, IN; primary coverage of 19 sports at Washington High School in South Bend, IN; rugby, hockey, football, track & field, high school coverage, and clinical patient care for AthletiCo Sports Medicine & Physical Therapy and Assistant Athletic Trainer at Libertyville High School and Condell Medical Center.

BARTHOLOMEW L. CASTILLO, ATC, ITAT has a Bachelor's degree from Trinity International University. He has been practicing athletic training since 2011 and here at LFHS since 2017. Most recently, he worked for Athletico Physical Therapy as a full time out-reach athletic trainer at Deerfield High School.
Bart is nationally certified by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers and licensed by the Illinois Division of Professional Regulation. Additionally, he is certified as an Impact Trained Athletic Trainer.bcastillo@lfschools.net
EMILY MIEHLKE, MAT, LAT, ATC received a Bachelor of Arts from Hollins University in Roanoke, VA in 2021, and Master of Athletic Training from North Central College in Naperville, IL in 2023. She has clinical experience working with soccer, basketball, volleyball, and football at North Central College, and has also gained experience with the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, and the Kane County Cougars.

LFHS TEAM PHYSICIAN
Dr. Robert Chams is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and knee and shoulder disorders. He is a longstanding team physician for Lake Forest College as well as multiple high schools and club sports teams.
Dr. Chams has been in practice with the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute for over 20 years and sees patients in both the Libertyville and Grayslake locations.

Dr. Nicole Reams is a fellowship-trained Sports Neurologist working out of Northshore Medical Group. She is a graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine in 2010 and completed her fellowship and residency at the University of Michigan Health System. Additionally, she serves as an Independent Neurologic Consultant for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Fire, Northwestern University Athletics, Dominican University Athletics, and Chicago Lions Rugby. Dr. Reams began to serve on the LFHS Concussion Oversight Team, as a volunteer consultant in 2017. This entails helping the athletic trainers, nurse, and counselors with the school’s return to play and learn protocols.
