District 67 and 115 Both Districts News Story Logo

Over the next two weeks, School Districts 67 and 115 will be completing an upgrade to our phone system. During the transition, you may experience brief, intermittent interruptions when calling our schools or District offices.

After reviewing community applications and conducting interviews, the Board has selected Mark Pickett to serve as an interim Board member through the next regularly scheduled Board election in April 2027.

Lake Forest was recently ranked No. 6 on Chicago Magazine’s list of the Best Suburbs to Live In. Using 2024 and 2025 school rankings as part of its evaluation, the magazine highlighted Lake Forest High School’s No. 1 ranking among Lake County public high schools in 2024, along with a 98% graduation rate and strong college-going outcomes. The piece also mentioned that in 2025, Sheridan and Everett Elementary Schools were also recognized among the top in the county.

Joe Blanchett

Lake Forest, IL – Lake Forest School Districts 67 and 115 will recommend Mr. Joseph Blanchette for approval as the next Director of Safety and Security at the District 115 Board of Education meeting on May 12 and the District 67 Board of Education meeting on May 19. Pending approval by both Boards, Mr. Blanchette would begin his role on July 1, 2026, reporting to Chief Operating Officer Dr. Jennifer Hermes.

Join Brittany Tjardes, CPA, Director of Fiscal Services, and Dr. Phil Georgia, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, as they explain how enrollment, staffing, salaries, and benefits shape financial planning, with thoughtful decisions that keep students at the center of every choice.

The newest episode, now available on the district website, focuses on the tax levy—the formal request for property tax revenue that funds school operations for the coming year.

Elizabeth and Nolan Illinois Ski Team

Congratulations to our very own Elizabeth Silvay and Nolan Olsen for earning a spot on the Team Illinois Ski Team! They will be competing at the Western High School Championship in Grand Targhee, Wyoming, from March 12 to 15. Good luck Elizabeth and Nolan!

We’re proud to announce that our Scouts have won this year’s film festival with a compelling silent film inspired by the real-life journey of Tony Daniel, one of the world’s top professional comic book artists. This year’s festival prompt, Creativity Unleashed, challenged students to explore unique and imaginative ideas.

We are notifying our District 67 and District 115 communities of a data security incident involving PowerSchool, our student information system provider. On December 22, 2024, an unauthorized third party accessed PowerSchool servers via their PowerSource support portal, compromising certain data from student and teacher databases globally.
